A word from our Co-Founder and CEO,
Ms. Kathy Wade
For 30 years, LTA's programs of cultural arts — the most common bond between people and cultures — have been utilized to increase opportunities for collaboration, arts education, artistic growth, community engagement, and economic development within the Greater Cincinnati community (and beyond).
At LTA, we seek to build bridges, break down barriers, and bring neighbors and neighborhoods together in celebration of the mosaic beauty of our region through our programming. Since 1992, LTA has served over 1,100,000 community members, instilling a sense of diverse, equitable, inclusive, and accessible art appreciation, cultural understanding, and connectedness.
During these 30 years, our community, our sponsors, and the families, educators, and young readers who participate in our programs have allowed me to live my dreams. I sincerely hope that the programs that Learning Through Art Inc. has created have helped the curious minds who have engaged with us to realize a few of their own dreams - to heal, to grow, to read, to create, and to feel - all through the power of the arts.
- Kathy Wade
Our kick-off, 30th anniversary event: Books Alive! For Kids® Family Adventures in the Park featuring "No Cell Phone Day" by Delfeayo Marsalis, started everything on May 7th!
11a - 5p at Eden Park:
Family Adventures in the Park will feature a day-long event designed to build family and community relationships through engaging performances in partnership with Cincinnati’s most iconic arts and cultural organizations, with venues throughout Eden Park hosting free outdoor art performances and activities inspired by the book, “No Cell Phone Day.” Written by jazz trombonist, producer, educator and NEA Jazz Master, Delfeayo Marsalis, the book tells the story of a daughter and father spending the day without the interruption of cell phones.
The day begins at 11am and concludes with a read aloud and concert by Delfeayo Marsalis at Seasongood Pavilion at 4pm.
The community is invited to turn off their phones and enjoy the performing, visual, and botanical art throughout the park. The event will connect the community through the arts in partnership with Harriet Beecher Stowe House, Cincinnati Ballet, Cincinnati Art Museum, Krohn Conservatory, Walnut Hills Branch Library, ArtWorks, and A Picture’s Worth. This anniversary presentation celebrates the mosaic beauty of our region
